Good grief. Federer simply said that his ranking is an important factor in motivating him to compete. He then went on to say that from his point of view ranking didn't seem to be as important to Nadal.

@Jay Butler: Chicago was just eliminated. Hosting the Olypmics almost always produces some short-term work, but huge amounts of long-term debts.

It was cars like the Civic, the Altima and the Elantra that brought Detroit down. My first thought was the 10 ten cars that brought down Detroit were the ones they DIDN'T build to compete with the Asian models you mentioned among others.

In American football, basketball and baseball, the sports themselves are set up to allow for these breaks without disturbing the actual game play. Soccer, however, is a very different story.

the women won't last 5 sets. Sure, there are a few who would do it, but overall have them play 5 sets from the 1st round and they will be dropping like flies.
If Roger Federer wins the French Open, would it mean as much without beating Rafael Nadal?

Federer just beat Nadal on clay in Madrid and he desperately wants his career slam. I'll bet he'd rather meet Nadal at the Wimbledon final.
